Can I really use two accounts of the same service?
Yes — that is what the app is for. Each Space keeps its own cookies and sign-ins, so signing in to a service in your Work Space and to a different account in Personal leaves you signed in to both at once. Switching Space switches which one you are looking at.
Do I have to sign in again every time I switch?
No. Sessions persist across switches and across restarting the app, exactly as they would in a browser you never signed out of. Some services expire their own sessions after a while; that is the service’s choice, not ours.
Why don’t I get notifications?
A Space runs services as web sessions, and iOS does not deliver web push inside them. If you need alerts from a service, keep its own app installed alongside SideSpace.
We would rather say this plainly here than have you find out after installing.
Where do photos taken in the app go?
Into the Space you were in, in the app’s own storage. They are never added to your Photos library — which also means they are not in your iCloud Photos backup. Export a SideSpace backup if you want a copy elsewhere.
What is a private Space?
A Space you have marked Private is not listed in the switcher at all until you unlock it, so its name is hidden and not only its contents. Unlock with Face ID, or with a passcode that is separate from your iPhone’s own code.
Why offer a passcode instead of just Face ID?
Face ID falls back to your iPhone’s passcode. If the person you are keeping out is someone who knows that code, Face ID does not keep them out. A separate passcode does.
I forgot my Space passcode
There is no way to recover it, and that is deliberate: a reset that could be done quietly would defeat the lock.
What you can do is reset it, and a reset erases every private Space — their web sessions, notes and photos. Pinned web apps survive, so the Space is still usable afterwards. The way to keep your data across a reset is a backup exported while you still know the passcode.
Does a backup include my sign-ins?
No. iOS gives an app no way to read web session data out, so a restored Space arrives signed out of everything. Your notes, photos, web apps and settings all come back.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. There is no account and no server. The Privacy Policy lists the only three things that ever leave your device, and none of them reaches us.
Which iPhones does it run on?
iOS 17 or later. iPhone only for now.
